Modern front design

The patterned tiger nose grille is surrounded by chevron-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights and dual LED headlights, adding striking modern style and greater visibility. Air flows over the Niro EV’s front end with minimal resistance.

Full electric engine

Offering up to 455km range (WLTP^) and fast-charging capabilities, the Niro is a major step in electric powertrain technology. The whisper-quiet permanent magnet synchronous motor boasts outstanding performance with 150kW of power and 395Nm of torque.

Single pedal driving

Pressing and holding the left side steering wheel paddle while the vehicle is coasting will decelerate the vehicle. This can be used to bring the Niro EV to a complete stop by continuing to hold the paddle in.

Drive mode select

The Niro adapts to your favourite driving style.

Starting from the highly efficient Eco+, to Eco, Normal and the more dynamic Sport, these four drive modes provide optimum torque and efficiency for your desired driving.

Single speed transmission

Niro EV comes with a single speed transmission (reduction gear), delivering rotational force of the motor to the front wheels.

Regenerative braking

Regenerative braking helps to convert the kinetic energy when decelerating and braking into electrical energy to recharge the battery for even greater energy efficiency.

Niro Full Electric is equipped with a Smart Regeneration System which controls the regenerative braking level automatically through the front radar to further improve energy efficiency.

Charger type & time

The Niro Full Electric uses Type 2 (IEC 62196-2) charge plug for AC charging and CCS Type 2 plug for DC charging which can be found at most Australian public charging stations.

Use DC charging for the fast charging (0-80%, 100kw – 54min.), AC charging (7.2kw – 9hrs 35min.) or the ICCB Trickle Charger.

Flexible charging

With the Charge Management functionality of Niro, you can set the day and time of when to charge the battery as well as location-based charging options.

The in-built navigation system also contains information on nearby charge stations so that you can easily find places to charge your Niro on the go.

Charge cable lock

The charging cable connector can be set to auto unlock when charging is completed to allow others to charge their vehicles.

It may also be set to remain locked after charging has completed if you using your own charge cable (sold separately) in a public charging station.

Blind Spot Detection*

BSD uses sensors to monitor the side and rear of the vehicle and warns the driver of other vehicles in the blind spots to make changing lanes safer and easier.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert*

When reversing out of a parking spot or driveway, this system will warn you if any incoming traffic in either direction is detected behind the vehicle.

Lane Keep Assist*

LKA alerts the driver when it detects that the vehicle is about the deviate from the traffic lane without the use of indicators. It may also automatically assist the vehicle to help the driver stay within the lane of travel.

Lane Follow Assist*

Lane Following Assist works with the Smart Cruise Control system to help the vehicle remain in the centre of the lane by continuously correcting the course of the vehicle when Smart Cruise Control is activated.

Autonomous Emergency Braking*

Using radar and camera data, the AEB system senses the potential for a collision with a pedestrian, car or cyclist ahead, and applies emergency braking to avoid or reduce the effects of a collision.

Advanced Smart Cruise Control*

Advanced Smart Cruise Control uses radar to maintain a predetermined distance from the vehicle directly ahead, automatically slowing or accelerating your vehicle when appropriate.

ASCC will require driver intervention if the vehicle in front is stationary for more than 3 seconds.

Rear Occupant Alert*

ROA makes note of the rear door open history to remind drivers to check rear seats when exiting the vehicle to prevent children, pets or items being left behind.

Rear view camera & reverse parking sensors*

The rear view camera with dynamic guidelines & ultrasonic sensors mounted on the rear bumper warn of any obstacles when manoeuvring into tight spaces to make parking a breeze.

Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS)*

Due to the whisper-quiet electric motor in the Niro Full Electric, pedestrians may not be able to hear you. The VESS generates an engine sound so that the Niro can be heard while travelling at low speeds as well as beeps when reversing.

Electronic Stability Control & Vehicle Stability

ESC & VSM systems help keep the car stable during potential skidding, low traction, sudden manoeuvres or braking situations.

Driver Attention Alert*

Driver Attention Alert (DAA) monitors the driver’s driving patterns and if there are signs of driver fatigue or inattentive driving, DAA recommends taking a break through audio & visual warnings.
